Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
PlayDecision is an app where players vote on gaming topics and see how everyone else voted. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.
The short version
- Your answers are combined with everyone else's into anonymous results, which we publish and share with the games industry.
- Those results never include your name, email, username, or anything else that identifies you.
- Other players never see how you answered, only the totals.
- We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other apps.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
What we collect
You give us most of this directly when you sign up, set up your profile, vote and comment.
- Account: your email address and username.
- Profile: the state you play from, your platforms, genres and gamer types.
- Private details: your birth year and gender. These are never shown to other players. We use them to keep results balanced and to compare groups, such as age ranges.
- Your activity: your votes, predictions, rankings and comments, details of how you answered (such as how long a vote took), and any reports you make.
- Technical information: details our servers record automatically, such as IP address and device information, used to run and secure the service.
What other players can see
Your username, comments, badges, the state you play from, and activity stats such as how many votes you've cast and your streak. Never your email, birth year, gender, platforms, genres, gamer types, or how you answered any question.
How we use it
- To run the app: showing live results, your history, points and badges.
- To choose which questions you see.
- To keep the community safe, including reviewing reports and enforcing our Terms.
- To produce research about games and the people who play them.
Published results
Your answers are combined with other players' answers into aggregate results, such as "62% of PS5 players plan to buy it on day one." We publish these results, for example in videos, social posts and reports, and share them with game developers, publishers, researchers and media, including as part of paid reports and research.
Aggregate results never include your name, email, username, or anything that identifies you, and we don't attempt to identify individuals from them.
Who else handles your information
We use service providers to run PlayDecision, including Supabase for our database and hosting, and an email provider for account emails. They handle information only to provide those services to us, and must protect it to the same standard as this policy.
We may disclose information if required by law. If PlayDecision is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
Deleting your account
Go to Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, email, profile, birth year, gender, badges and predictions. Your comments are replaced with "[deleted]" so other people's replies still make sense. Your past votes stay in the results anonymously, with nothing linking them to you. Results that have already been published are not changed.
Deleting your account is also how you withdraw your consent to this policy. You can email us instead and we'll delete it for you.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open, and delete it as described above when you close it. Server logs are kept only for a limited period.
Children
PlayDecision is for players aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
You can edit your profile in the app and delete your account at any time. You can contact us to access or correct your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to use them, and we won't treat you differently for doing so.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email.
